No experience or fitness level is required. Students in their 20s and their 70s alike are drawn to and benefit from a consistent yoga practice. It doesn’t matter if you are an elite athlete or if you haven’t exercised in years—you will be challenged at an appropriate level for you.
If you are a yoga newbie, welcome! MyYogaWorks is a great way to learn some of the basic yoga moves before ever entering one of our studios. This way when you do decide to go to class, you’ll already be a pro! We recommend beginners choose level one classes and start with some of our shorter tutorials (like the “meet” series). One other tip: consider first watching the class one time all the way through and then the second time, practice along with the video.
Absolutely not! Flexibility is a benefit of doing yoga, not a requirement. The stiffer you are, the more you can benefit from a regular yoga practice. And for those of you who are already flexible, yoga is a useful practice for you too, many people do not realize that yoga is an excellent way to build strength and stability using your body weight instead of weights to do it. The idea is to create balance in your body so you get both stronger and more open.
Yes! And just so you know, philosophically we are committed to meeting you where you are and letting you tap into your own body's wisdom. We do not believe in a one size fits all method. Yoga is flexible and can adapt to most needs. Start by trying our level one classes (especially the “meet” series which are short tutorials on individual poses) but even when you’re ready to move on to longer, or more advanced classes, our teachers will show you modifications so you can approach even the most advanced posture and eventually master it!
This is exactly why we’ve created MyYogaWorks, to meet you wherever you are and whenever you’re ready. Our online workouts range from 5-60 minutes and can be done anywhere. Whether you’re up early in the morning practicing in your pajamas, squeezing your workout in at work or doing tree pose in your kitchen while you make dinner for your kids. MyYogaWorks classes will give you the most benefit for your time because our teachers have the skill and depth of experience to make yoga safe and effective for all levels and any amount of time. And if you have a specific goal in mind, try one of our signature "Journey Series"-our preloaded play lists that come with a "prescription" for how often to do each video. Our Journeys offer a specific benefit ranging from learning to do handstand to achieving a shapelier back side. Make the time and space in your life for MyYogaWorks, it’s worth it!
It is helpful to have a yoga mat (so you don’t slip) as well as a block, a blanket and a strap. If you want to purchase any of these from us come in to our studios and one of our friendly greeters will help you get what you need. If you’re not ready to make the investment in formal yoga gear, you can use a thick book for a block, a towel or the belt from your robe for a yoga strap and a couple of folded towels for a yoga blanket.
Our teachers will always give you modifications for common injuries but you should still get clearance from a physician before you begin yoga or any other physical practice. We are not doctors. We are, however, passionate about helping you make your yoga practice your own so you can get a good safe workout when you are ready.
Consult with your physician during all stages of pregnancy to see if a yoga practice is appropriate for you. Many pregnant students find yoga during pregnancy to be a great way to stay in shape while preparing for birth and motherhood. We have a wide range of prenatal classes taught by teachers with extensive training and expertise in prenatal yoga. Our prenatal teachers will show you how to modify your practice for each stage of pregnancy and even how to use yoga to mitigate some of the discomforts that may accompany your pregnancy. However, every person is different and every pregnancy is different so make sure you listen to your body as well as your doctor.
At present, our subscription system does not support buying gift subscriptions for existing subscribers. If you try to buy a gift subscription for an existing subscriber, you will receive an error message indicating that they are already a subscriber. In that case, we might suggest a YogaWorks Gift Card, which can be used at any YogaWorks location or for purchases at our online store.
When your gift subscription is close to expiring, you will receive an email reminder that prompts you to go to the "My Account" page. Once there, select “Billing” and then “Payment.” You can enter your own credit card information and your new subscription will automatically start when your gift subscription ends.
We are sure that once you experience MyYogaWorks, you will want to share it with your friends. MyYogaWorks makes a great gift for anyone who loves yoga and even those who've never tried it! To send a gift to a friend just click on the "Give a Gift" tab and select a subscription package and fill out the gift recipients name and email. Our Journey Series are preloaded playlists that teach you a new pose, give you a specific benefit or target an area of the body to build more strength or flexibility. These curated series of videos will take your practice from where it is now to the next level. Each series of videos is accompanied by a "prescription" created by our team of expert teachers that provides a map for your journey, detailing how often and in what order to do each class in the playlist. By following these careful instructions you may achieve a more fluid sun salutation, get up for the first time into a hand stand or perhaps even find yourself in possession of the much coveted yoga butt!
To embark on one of our Journeys, begin by choosing from the list of Journeys on the "Journey Series" page. Select the Journey you want to try. The video at the top of the page is the first video in the journey. If you scroll down, you'll see the available levels as well as the rest of the videos in the journey and when to practice them. When you complete a video, click the check box above to track your progress. That's it!
My Account is where you can update your Account Settings and Billing Information. For example, this is where you can go to update your email, password, preferences or credit card information. You can also manage your subscription, add a promo code to your account, cancel or reactivate your subscription.
You can manage your subscription under the My Account section. Click on “Billing” and then “Subscription” to make changes or updates.
On the homepage, once you are logged in, scroll down to the section called “Your Collection.” There is a tab on the right called “Watched” and this is where you will find all of the classes that you have completed.
If you need to change or update your credit card information, you can do this anytime when you are logged in by going to “My Account.” Once there, click on “Billing” and then “Payment” to make the necessary changes or updates.

MyYogaWorks yoga classes are available for streaming only, so you must be connected to the Internet in order to watch them.
No, in fact, we use HTML5 as the default player for all mobile devices, so you should not have any problems playing the video on any device browser.
Click on the class you would like to watch. In the bottom right corner of the video player, you will see an icon that looks like two opposing arrows. Click on that icon and the video player will enter full-screen mode.
MyYogaWorks classes can be viewed on all Apple devices (Mac computers, iPads, iPhones), as long as you have an Internet connection.
Please make sure you are logged in to have access to all videos. There are a number of videos on the site, which are labeled as “Free” and can be played in their entirety without being logged in. Otherwise, videos are only available in a short preview mode for users who have not yet subscribed to MyYogaWorks.

Then when you want to tell the world how you feel about one of the MyYogaWorks classes, just click on “Comments” or scroll to the bottom of the video page, enter a title, write your comment, and then click on “Post Comment.” Note that once you post a comment, you are not able to make any edits.

There are two ways to create a playlist. To start, make sure you are logged into your MyYogaWorks account.
1. From your homepage, you can create a new playlist by clicking on the “New Playlist” button, naming your playlist and then clicking on the button “Add Playlist.” When you are watching a video that you want to add to your playlist, just click on “Playlist” to the right of the video player and add that class to your existing playlist. Once you have made your selection, click on the green button that says “Update Playlists.”
2. Once you have selected a video to watch, click on “Playlist” and you will have the option to create a new playlist or add a video to an existing playlist. Once you have made your selection, click on the green button that says “Update Playlists.” If you return to your homepage, all of your playlist selections will appear at the bottom of your homepage.
We made it easy for you to find the classes that are best suited for you and your level. You can choose to search for videos using the “Search” box in the top right corner. Or you can choose to use the video filters that allow you to search for classes by Level, Duration, Teacher, Benefit or Focus. Once you've selected filters, you can also “Reset” or deselect some or all of your filter choices.
